- a rational number can be written in form a/b, where a and b are integers and b cannot be 0
Multiplying or Dividing the numerator and denominator by the same number does NOT change the number because you are really multiplying by 1.
When putting rational numbers in order either
- find a common denominator first and compare numerators
- put into decimal form first
